Hey Angela, oh I loved this piece. Learning a language is such a daunting process. I didn’t think about how being an introvert can help or hinder picking up this skill.

I felt all those things when I was learning French in school. Even now I feel reluctant to try out my French to a French person. You gave some really helpful tips and wonderful encouragement. A few that stood out for me

• Let curiousity overcome fear
• Focus on conversing rather than on perfection
• Be prepared, but it’s not the end of the world if you’re not always prepared
• We can step back into our introversion whenever we want — just be comfortable with it and work with who we are, and what we can do
