Hey Nick, pleasure. I spent a year in BNI. It was awesome, though painful waking up for my 7am meeting (6.30/45 turn up). For some reason, you just can’t sleep when you need to wake up at 5.30am…
To get the most out of it, you need to turn up each week, have a genuine interest in meeting other people, getting to know them and their business, and helping them through referrals. Even 3–4 years after that stint, my 2 best clients are from BNI. They provide the most consistent work, are easy to work with, and are the profitable clients. So it was worth the year.
I’d say visit a few chapters and see how you find them. They all have similar structures, but the vibe is different obviously based on who’s part of the group and how it’s run. I was fortunate enough to find a fun, close-knit, supportive bunch :)
Let me know how you go Nick. Cheers, have an awesome weekend! :)
