Hey Sheree, good on you for writing about this. It really is an exasperating, scary, very real issue for women. As a mum, it does cross my mind how much super I’m not making while I’m not working full time. And I empathise with single mums and women in general— it can be difficult to get ahead and even more so if you don’t want to rely on government pensions (that may not even be around when we need them down the track). It’s also scary how the government seems to think they own our super…

I think more can be done to address this issue. In the meantime, it’s worth taking an interest in investing… no matter whether there’s a rich husband or you have a better paying job. Neither may be around for the long run.
