Hey Thomas, cheers for the tips. I fully support the media fast. Earlier this year, I realized how addicted I was to checking notifications, email, and my phone in general — all the time! It broke my concentration a lot, as I was always distracted. I found I couldn’t fully focus on what I needed to get done.
Now I do a fast at least 1–2 days every week. And check social notifications 1–2 times a day instead of every 2 minutes! :)
The reminder to take regular breaks because our minds work best in short stints. That’s something I need to work on. Also being focused on a single task is a good tip — batching is an efficient way to get things done. I guess it’s like a production line: every part is dedicated on doing just one thing for optimum efficiency.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and research.
