Thanks for a great read Jack! :) I hear you. Working solo, it can get pretty tempting to do everything online, even maintain relationships. Your post about proximity, chemistry, and collaboration is spot on!
I’ve recently realized this also, and gotten off my butt to meet clients in person regularly outside home. I find that face-to-face, you find out about stuff you normally wouldn’t online. Because online there’s a tendency to be functional. To get shit done. Whereas in person, it’s more casual, fun, and there’s chit-chat that often leads to brainstorming — and awesome ideas you wouldn’t come up with otherwise.
Meeting in person and sharing a coffee, a meal, or some other activity is such a strong way to bond. Which naturally increases trust, care, and a better working relationship.
Cheers again for sharing your thoughts and experiences Jack. I really enjoyed your post :)
